THE PROS AND CONS OF LIFE ABOARD A NARROW BOAT – WHAT’S FLOATING OUR BOAT AND SINKING OUR SHIP THIS WEEK

Another week, and another chance for discussing what’s floating our boat and what’s sinking our ship, this is becoming one of my favourite blog posts to write so I’m hoping we can keep it going for a while, it makes me feel like I work for Cosmo magazine or something!

What’s floating our boat this week?

I love a good cuppa, but I’m also and expert at forgetting I have one. Want to know what’s super with this time of year, the fire is on! The fire also equals a wonderful tea heater! Pop your cup on a ticking over stove and you drink will remain at that lovely warm tea temperature … be warned however a stove on full heat will make your cup untouchable! Much like porridge for goldilocks it has to be just right!

What’s sinking our ship this week?

Carpet, well actually not so much carpet but the lack of it. We don’t have carpet aboard, we have no intention to thanks to the mess associated with boat life, two pooches and a messy man. Have you noticed though the temperature has begun to drop? Have we ever mentioned that a good percentage of our living space and foot walking space is below the water level, this all equals cold cold colder! Not wishing to sound like I have some weird fetish but as this cold weather begins to set in I find myself craving sinking the toes into plushy carpet, totally weird I know but still! Perhaps I should look to buy myself a sample square for these occasions!
