I completely appreciate that in writing and publishing this post we shall be condemned to 7 days of poor fires, but I feel it’s too much of an achievement not to share. Yesterday the wonderful T to my Rex lit the fire of all warmth creating fires, a fire so successful it was nearly too successful. It was such an unheard of achievement in the Tuck-Wood household that we simply had to capture the moment in full techni-colour.
That’s right your eyes do not deceive you, the thermometer is reading at 400, edging out of the ‘Best Operation’ zone and into the ‘Too Hot’ zone. We have never experienced temperatures like these, it caused mass panic with us clambering to open doors and windows. We also experienced several dog fights, as they fought over the prime heat generating position.

The unprecedented heat eventually caused our beloved pets to melt into the furniture.
Honestly it was incredible, the only downside is we now know we are destined to several days of bad warmth generation, the Fire Gods will not always be in your favor, boohoo.
Narrowboats? How will you keep warm, it’ll be freezing in the winter …
