Not to Cruise – The tale of the fair weather boaters

Tissues at the ready folks, we didn’t make it out to cruise on Monday.

WE JUST WANTED TO GO OUT AND PLAY

Unfortunately weather stopped play, whilst there had been dry weather with patches of glorious sunshine whilst I sat in work on Sunday, Bank Holiday Monday delivered the public holiday weather we have all come to expect … a big bowl of meh!

With rain falling, a chill in the air and the wind increasing we called time on the idea of our first leisure cruise on Fantine.

Do not worry though, with James’ family visiting for the afternoon we still got to the pub, meaning got a lovely lunch and of course alcohol lined refreshments. As we sat in the pub the sun started to peek through the clouds and the blue sky began to outweigh the grey and we started to feel we had made the wrong decision not to go out cruising.

That was until we returned to Fantine and noised through the curtains as another boat attempted to return to their mooring, only for the wind to twist and shove them in what ever direction it desired. Phew right decision made after all … we are fairish weather boaters don’t you know.

IT’S SO WINDY THE DUCKLINGS GOT TURNED INTO BOWLING PINS 😦

We are hoping that by the time the next Bank Holiday comes round we will be able to get out there, for now we will hide in our safe little mooring bay.
