Narrow Boat Blacking – She’s Out!

This weekend Fantine was pulled from her sleepy watery home out into the bracing winds to have her butt painted. Or as some people may call it Blacked. When she had her safety survey Blacking came up as something which would need to be done within the next 12 months. We decided that it would be best to complete this whilst she was at Whilton and before we moved everything aboard, causing minimum disruption. We hope you’re all ready for Fantine’s internet breaking booty pic!

Eat your heart out Kim K!

We popped along on Sunday to see her out of the water (Are you even a real Narrow Boat owner if you don’t go to see your boat out of the water!?). Matt was there applying her second coat of Blacking paint, whilst we pottered around grabbing pictures and admiring her, Bigger than we imagined, Butt and Hull.

It is really great to see and gives you a whole new perspective on your boat! So time to bore you with more of our Fantine out of the water pics!

AND TALL! LOOK HOW TALL SHE IS
The end is now in sight! Hopefully she will be returned to her lovely murky watered home this week, and all being well that’s the last time we will be seeing her booty for a couple of years! Then it’s just the final manic few weeks of moving things aboard and to storage before we can call her a home!

A very excited James & Kirsty
