Whilst we haven’t even spent a night aboard yet, we are already planning an extension.
Seriously though, one thing I noticed when we were moving everything in was the muddy feet everywhere!
To the point where I was chasing behind him with the hoover and nagging him not to walk on the muddy verge (as impressive as his technique for doing this was). To be honest I’m not that much of a princess over things like this, in fact I love mud more than your average four year old. But that doesn’t mean I want to spend my life cleaning up after muddy boots and paws.
So using my queen authority (Told you I’m not a princess), we started to discuss the idea of a Cratch.
The Cratch will give us in essence another room, which we are planning on using as a boot and dog cleaning room, basically a nuclear mud ridding zone. Who knew there were so many Cratch variants!? So we took a little walk around the marina (Timed in an all important tea and cake break), and looked at the styles we liked and didn’t.
We are hoping to go for, what we call the tent style (I’m sure that is the technical name for them! If its not it should be, and I’ll let you Cratch makers have it for free). Which can fold away entirely, should we want to be at one with nature in the glorious UK summer, and we want the front to be as open and as bright as possible, we love how bright Fantine is and would hate to block out too much of this.
So we started measuring away at the front of Fantine, granted we didn’t really know what we were measuring! But we wanted to sound intelligent when we phoned the Cratch company!
As we were fighting our tape measure a friendly boat neighbour popped over and recommended KC Covers from Coventry, and let us hop aboard and check out his cratch and pram cover. We have now called KC Covers and who have arranged to pop out to see us (Probably to measure properly).
